This guide will help you get started adding content to your new site. For more detailed and up-to-date information, please visit
help.supersimpleserver.com.
Click the
Log In link at the top-right of any page. If you own this web site, use the administrator login/password that you specified during the setup process.
Step 2: Make Content Pages
On the home page of your site, click on the
New link to begin the process. You will then be able to create a media page by uploading a .mp4 or .webm video, .mp3 audio, or one or more images. There is also an option to create a more flexible wiki-style article page that allows free-form usage of text and uploaded multimedia embeds.
Step 3: Add Links To The Home Page
On the home page of your site, at the top of the Recent Items section, there is an
Add link. If you click this link, there is a form where you can paste in one or more URLs of pages within your site, or any page on any site on the web. These can be links to articles, videos, or anything else. The server will examine the content at the URL and add a link on your home page, complete with title, description, and thumbnail image.
Pages that you create on your own site will also have a link in the upper-right corner to automatically add to the home page.
Step 4: Setup Feeds In Your Reader
Click the
Reader link on the home page. There are links near the top of the page to add/edit/remove feed links. Any RSS/Atom feed will work, and you can also use links to any Super Simple Server based page that has an Activities section, such as another site's home page.
The feeds are polled every 15 minutes. Refresh the page to see the latest updates. It may take a minute or two for a feed to fully update after it has been added.
Step 5: Explore Other Features
Don't forget to try the other features by clicking the links near the top of the home page. There is a chat room, forum, file repository, and an RSS/Atom feed reader included by default. There is also a host of administrator tools available in the
Admin section. You can also customize every detail of your site's look from the
Admin Template section.
